The DCDSB Chapter of APSSP represents Child and Youth Counsellors, Communicative Disorders Assistants, an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Psychologists, Psychological Associates, Psychometrists, Social Workers/Attendance Counsellors, and Speech and Language Pathologists. Durham APSSP held its first Union meeting with an executive of 4 on June 20th, 1984. Our first collective agreement with DCDSB was established for the period starting in September 1984. Our current executive consists of 9 members from across various disciplines. Chapter membership stands about 43. As of October 2008, DCDSB had a total of 24,456 students enrolled. This number consists of 15,618 elementary students and 8,838 secondary students. DCDSB has 39 elementary schools and 7 secondary schools. The Board also supports an adult Education Centre, a Catholic Return Ticket Program, a Continuing Education Centre, and a Learning to 18 Program.
