The Provincial Vice President of Public Relations attends all Executive and Governing Council meetings and provides a report for any public relations activities being implemented in the Chapters. The Vice President/Public Relations also assists in the review of all public relations materials such as pamphlets etc. He/She maintains ongoing and consistent contact with the Chapter Public Relations representatives and is available for consultation and suggestions for any public relations initiatives. The Vice President/Public Relations chairs meetings of the Public Relations Committee with all Chapter Public Relations representatives during the October APSSP Planning Weekend. In addition, the Vice President/Public Relations is responsible for updating, ordering and distributing public relations items to all the Chapters and keep ongoing records of paid invoices from each Chapter for items ordered. Regular contact and review of new public relations items from various companies is essential. The Vice President/Public Relations is the editor of the APSSP Newsletter which is printed periodically during the school year. This involves eliciting articles, reports and pictures, meeting with the designer and printer to make sure everything is in place, picking it up and delivering it to Chapter representatives at Provincial meetings. For the APSSP Planning Weekend, the Vice President/Public Relations assists the Secretary in setting up for registration, providing a printed agenda and gift for members and treat baskets for each table. The Vice President/Public Relations is responsible for planning the Annual General Meeting held each May. This responsibility includes arranging location, booking the event well in advance, arranging the menu and equipment needed for speakers, taking photos for the APSSP newsletter, providing gifts for members and the speaker, preparing gift baskets for draws and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. |
